Field Education
Field Education ensures practical experience in the vocational area for which the student is preparing. Diploma and Degree programs require the completion of a certain number of Field Ed Lab and/or Practicum hours of volunteering, to meet graduation expectations. In Years 2/3 students complete a 100 hour Field Lab, whilst in Year 4 a Practicum must be completed, which includes in excess of 600 volunteering hours.

A Volunteer Fair is held at the College every year in September. Agencies are invited to attend so that students can discover the volunteering opportunities for their chosen program.
Students should set up a meeting with the Field Education Advisor (Gaileen Gillies) to discuss the Field Education requirements for their program. A meeting can be set up by contacting Gaileen at 403-284-5100 ext 262 or ggillies@rockymountaincollege.ca
