GRADUATION POLICIES
Completion of Program
A student may complete the requirements of an RMC program at three times in the academic year and have program completion dates reflected on the student transcript:
- August 31
- December 31
- April convocation date
Convocation is scheduled at the end of April each year. Students who completed programs in August or December of the preceding year will participate in the April convocation and receive official graduation parchments at that time.
Graduation Requirements
To graduate from an RMC program:
- the last 30 hours of diploma and degree programs and the last 15 hours of certificate programs must be completed at RMC. PLAR (Prior Learning and Assessment Recognition) credits do not apply to these minimum requirements
- all academic requirements for the program must be submitted by the dates scheduled in course syllabi
- a cumulative program G.P.A. of at least 2.00 and a G.P.A. of at least 2.30 in degree course work directly related to the major must be achieved; The Leadership department requires that all professional studies courses plus BBL314, BBL310 and HTH274 require an average GPA of 2.30
- at least 9 credit hours in Bible/Theology (3 credits in each area of Biblical Studies, Spiritual Theology and Theology) must be completed at RMC even if students have sufficient transfer hours to cover all Bible/Theology requirements
- Field Education units or practicums as required by the program must be completed by the last day of semester classes
- Career Development Workshops as required by the program must be completed
- Piano Proficiency Tests, Concert Requirements, Senior Recitals or Graduation Concerts of the music program must be met by the last day of semester classes
- a minimum C grade is required in performance-based music courses
- official transcripts for distance learning courses must be received by the Registrar by the last day of semester classes
- all applications for Prior Learning Assessment & Recognition must be processed by the last day of semester classes;
- a student will exhibit a growing Spirit-directed Christian experience
- any outstanding library obligations or student financial accounts must be paid in full
- a student will be approved for graduation by the Board of Governors upon recommendation of the faculty
Graduation Honours
Honours are granted to graduating degree candidates according to their cumulative grade point average as follows:
3.40 – 3.69 Cum Laude
3.70 – 3.89 Magna Cum Laude
3.90 – 4.00 Summa Cum Laude
