International Community Development

Around the world communities struggle to recover from disaster or deal with ongoing challenges of drought cycles, ethnic persecution, poor land quality, lack of employment, etc. The purpose of this specialization is to prepare you to serve with a team that is helping such communities to develop the infrastructure, economic opportunities, and resources to overcome the problems and create opportunities for a better future. Spiritual concerns must be addressed in such situations as well as the economic, social and physical.

This specialization requires students to complete the International Community Development Certificate from the Continuing Education Faculty at Mount Royal University. This must be done before a student can participate in the International Practicum and can be complete online during the Winter semester of the first year, in May and June between the two years and in the Fall semester of the second year of the Diploma program.

Course Requirements: 

Biblical & Theological Studies (15 credits)

 General Arts (18 credit hours)

 Professional Studies (27 credit hours)

Electives (3 credits)
