Literacy Intern

Many people groups around the world have no written language. After Bible translators learn an oral language they must then develop a written form of the language. Once that is developed, people in those groups can learn to read and write, but need someone to teach them. Literacy interns teach people to read and write the newly-written language and help these people develop socially and educationally as well preparing them to receive and use the Bible when it is translated.

This specialization involves completing the Literacy Intern track at CanIL (Canadian Institute for Linguistics) at Trinity Western University in Langley, BC during a 9-week session in June, July and August between the two years of the diploma program.
