Rocky in Medicine Hat

The Enrolment Department at Rocky Mountain College (RMC) had the opportunity of visiting the youth group at Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church in Medicine Hat, Alberta.  It was a great time.  Many RMC alumni are involved with the youth ministry team there.  The night opened with announcements; then Mike, a current student and I told them about Rocky Mountain College. We were quite entertaining, or at least the students laughed. Mike shared his thoughts about Rocky Mountain College, which the youth really enjoyed.

Dave Morin, Associate Pastor of Student Ministries and RMC Alumni, led the night in worship.  He encouraged the students to experience God in new ways and to reflect on their relationship with God.  It was amazing to see Dave lead the students to connect with God at a deep level and encourage them to follow God’s plans for their life.
The night closed with snacks and a hangout time.  This was a great opportunity for Mike and I to share even more about RMC with the students.  Mike was being himself and the students gravitated towards him.  Following the youth event, we were invited to participate in a leadership meeting.

Jeremy Knodel, Pastor of Student Ministries and RMC Alumnus, did an excellent job of leading the meeting. He and Dave have organized the youth ministry program so that there are core leaders responsible for each grade level. Jeremy led the team leaders in the time of reflection and devotion.  It was inspiring to see such this team of adults inspired to achieve amazing things in the eyes of God. Their passion is to serve the youth of Medicine Hat and help them deepen their faith, grow in their relationship and learn how to seek God's will in their lives.

The Enrolment Office wants to thank Mike for being willing to share and Jeremy and Dave for allowing Rocky Mountain College to come and visit.
