Meet the President. . . . Kerry Belt

A graduate of Mountain View Bible College and Canadian Theological Seminary, Kerry Belt has been teaching at Rocky Mountain College for fifteen years.  During his time at Rocky he has founded the Youth Ministries Major, the Field Education Department, and the first year Edge program.  Currently he chairs the Leadership Ministries Department and was recently inducted into the Pi Alpha Mu honor society.  He has also helped initiate Demo Crew, an inner city summer discipleship program for teenagers at the Mustard Seed in Calgary and has chaired the Educational Advisory Committee there.

As an advocate for teen ministry Kerry has invested in youth ministry by speaking and teaching at teen camps and retreats, providing seminars on contemporary youth culture, doing adult leadership training sessions and mentoring a number of youth pastors.

A native Albertan, Kerry lives in Calgary with Allison, his wife of 17 years. With over twenty years experience as an educator, Allison continues to be an inspirational teacher and faculty leader. She passionately engages her biology students in the study of the living world, encouraging them in their pursuits and dreams. Allison's own curiosity with the natural world extends into her recreational activities, gardening, and travel adventures with her students.

In his leisure time, Kerry enjoys mountain biking, carpentry, doing renovations to their home and traveling.  Recently he and Allison led a team of grade eleven students on a two week trip to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands.

President Belt is affiliated with the Evangelical Missionary Church of Canada and currently serves on the National Board of Directors.
