RMC Students give to others:

The students at Rocky Mountain College have started their year off on the right foot. They are sharing their joy with others in several different ways:

The student-run leadership on campus, the Student Union (SU), is a team of eight students who desire to serve their fellow RMC peers. They are constantly thinking of new ways not only to make RMC a better place, but also to give to many others in Calgary and abroad.

Jay Magtuba from the Philippines is the World Vision child sponsored by the Student Union. The SU has sponsored children from World Vision for over five years.

The SU recently sponsored a fundraising event where they had an arm wrestling championship with funds raised going to the Mustard Seed Street Ministry here in Calgary. It was a great competition between students, staff and faculty, raising $150.00 for the Mustard Seed. The winner in the event was Clint who is pictured below. It was great to see our VP of Academics (Chris Elford) and our President (Kerry Belt) wrestle against the students.

The children of “Discovery House”, a women’s shelter in the city, were also the recipients of the students of RMC's kindness. The Student Union donated toys to the children who have been touched by family violence.
